does anyone know if for alpha patterns there is an easy way to find / make photos that have a good ratio for the alpha from image generator? for context, i just made a pattern of a deltarune character (a pixel art style game) and i lost it right at the end bc my internet cut out . . . so i was wondering if i would have to recreate it manually or not. so i guess what i’m asking is if there’s an easy way to make it so one pixel matches one knot on a grid? lmk if this doesn’t make sense and i’ll update it.

I use a pixel art app (dotpict) to draw my alpha patterns, then I download the pixel art on the lowest possible resolution (one pixel is actually just one pixel big) and use alpha from image on it. If each pixel is actually just one pixel big, 'alpha from image' won't distort the pixel art.If you have a higher resolution, you can set the height and width of the alpha pattern to the amount of knots it should be high and wide. |
