Is it ok to post a pattern if it is similar to another pattern on braceletbook, but not the same?

So i saw this pattern #23505, and wanted to do a version where the cat had smiling eyes (like 😊), but to do that I had to change the knot structure. It won't let me post it as a variation, but I want to post the photo of a pattern I made with it. Is it ok for me to post the pattern even with the similarity?

It would be just two knots different, right? Just changing the lowest knot of the square-shaped eyes to the opposite knot.If that is the case, it would be too similar The change is also so simple that there should not be the need for an additional pattern. It should be easy to figure out from the original pattern. If there are more and more complex changes, it might be acceptable. |

There are also a different number of rows because I changed the ear shape as well, but in that case can I post the photo to the original pattern?

If you changed the ear shape, it might be acceptable. Sorry, I missed that. I would recommend submitting the pattern. In the review notes you mention the pattern it is based on. The moderator reviewing it will judge, if it is different enough or not. Depending on how much you changed, it might be too different to post to the original pattern, but I can't determine that from the description alone. I would recommend asking the original creator for permission, if you can use their pattern as a base for your pattern. If your pattern made enough changes, permission might not be needed, but it's best to ask, just to be nice. |

I made a comment under the pattern, but it seems like the user hasn’t been active in about 2 years? I’ll wait a couple days just in case.
