Removing left-most string after creating a design

Hello 🙂 multiple times now I've made a nice design and after I realize it would look better with less strings. I can remove the one on the right np, but the one on the left messes everything up as the knots move. Is there a way to deal with this ?

After playing around, the only way I've found is with the text editor. Remove the first knot on every other line, and cut and paste the first line to be the last. In the colors order, remove the first letter

What you did is exactly the way to go. It did not work in the interactive generator.
