How do I change the colors of the strings on the interactive pattern maker?

I can click on the secondary color string and change it to the primary color, but once its changed to the primary color its stuck. I also can't add more than the original two colors

Click on a color box. A bigger box will come up where you can scroll a little circle around to find a color. Then touch a top of a strand to change the color
