To create a pattern you need to be on the website, not the app. On a computer you hover over your username on the top right, on a phone you click on it. In the fold-down menu you select "create patterns". There you can select whether you want to create a normal or alpha pattern. Here are some tutorials that might be helpful https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/34_designing-normal-patterns/ https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/74_how-to-tweak-patterns/ https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/120_making-better-outlines-for-alpha-patterns/ Before submitting a pattern please check out the guidelines. If you have any more questions feel free to ask 😄 |

Hello! I was making a pattern and the warnings say I can’t use dark colors(n) and the color n was black then i used something similar to black but it still says don’t use dark colors for your patterns. The patterns that are already accepted and that other people could see some of those have black. My question is why can’t I use the color black?

@Lesliea7 we don’t accept patterns that use black because it is difficult to see the individual pixels in the pattern grid. this is mostly applicable to alphas that use black a lot (like as a background color) because a lot of people like to knot alphas using the pattern preview, not necessarily the knot chart below the preview. using lighter colors would make it easier for them to see the individual pixels so that they could easily count how many knots they need to make with that color. if there’s a very small number of pixels that use black, we normally accept those patterns. with normals we sometimes decline patterns that use black as a background color. as a substitute for black, i recommend using either 333333 or 383838. hope that helps! 🙂
