It's the same technique, but in a different spot. If we look at the right side of the first diamond, for example, the light blue would make a backward forward on the purple string, the medium blue would make a BF on both the purple and light blue strings, the dark blue would make a BF on all three of the previous string, and so on and so forth, until you reach the turn. Now, the dark pink makes a BF over all the strings, then the red makes a BF on all but the dark pink thread, the orange makes a BF on all but the pink and red threads, etc, until you're back to all strings being loose.

On the other side, you'll do the same thing, but with Forward Backward knots.

The best way I've found for figuring out new techniques is to try and think where each string is coming from, and where each string needs to be once the knot is done. In this case, each thread is coming from the right, and need to end up beck there, so that it'll be easy to knot over. The knot that takes a thread from the right side back to the right side is a BF knot.
