Hi, whenever I make my alpha patterns, the edges never stay straight, they always go to the side and make it a parallelogram instead of a rectangle. Does anyone have any tips on how to stop this?

How do you start your alphas? Maybe you have the strings too close together in the beginning.

How do you secure the bracelet while tying? Maybe it's not secure enough. Maybe it can move around a lot.

Securing your bracelet down properly helped a lot with my alphas. I prefer using a safety pin for normal bracelets but for alphas it’s better to tape the bracelet down to a table as you work through the rows. Also, make sure the first few rows aren’t too tight since they essentially act as a foundation for the rest of the bracelet, so try focusing on making all your knots the same size (using the same brand of embroidery floss helps with that). 💗💗

Thank you so much! I think it is probably that I don't secure my bracelt as I go, I just secure it at the start and keep it that that way, so thank you for that 🤞 it works

Hi if you haven't already please search flat alpha technique by Masha knots on youtube! It's really helped my edges all stay straight. otherwise, it could be tension and your edges might be being pulled either too tight or too loose
