OK, so does anyone have any tips for how long I should leave my strings for my twist ties at the beginning of my friendship bracelets? For reference I do triangle ends at both ends of my friendship bracelet, then make the whole bracelet adjustable with square knots, so I was just wondering how much string I should leave before I make my first triangle end. Ya that was confusing sorry 😭

Hi!! I have had the same problem so so so many times. I normally leave about 6-7 inches for mine, I know it's alot, but I don't run out. I just cut what I don't use off and stuff my sewing creations with the leftovers. Hope this helped!

I just started my first bracelet using twist ties! I'm doing #58731, the black and white variation. What I did was before I started tying the bracelet, I experimented with how I'd like the twist to look. First I tried just dividing the strings in two bundles down the middle. So for this pattern, one bundle was 1 white string and 2 black strings, and the other one was 1 black strings and 2 white strings. I didn't like the way that looked, so I decided to make one bundle the three white strings and the other one the three black strings. But to answer your question: before tying anything, I twisted the last 4in of the strings as if I was going to make the twisted end and then measured how long it was after I twisted it. Using 4in of string left me with about a 3.5in tie. How long it ends up will depend on how tightly you twist your strings. I decided that I wanted my tie to be about 2.5in, so I left myself 3in of string before I started knotting the pattern. Once I got at least 5 or so rows knotted, then I went back and made my twisted end.
