Hi! I need some help with a pattern. I’m making pattern #9913 as a collar for a cat, and I don’t know what the clasp is called, but it’s the kind you would find in a belt, so I need to leave holes in the pattern. But I can’t figure out a way to add holes in without messing up where the strings are after the hole, and they’re always out of order. Does anyone know a way to leave holes in the pattern without messing up the rest of the pattern? Thanks!

Not sure if this helps but if you know how to make shaped alphas you can use the technique where you thread the string through the knot you dont want seen (maybe making a gap/hole)

Holes can only replace bf and fb knots or knots between two strings of the same colour in order to not affect the pattern.

The pattern has only f and b knots, which only leaves the knots between two strings of the same colour and they are all not in the middle.

I adjusted the pattern slightly to use fb and bf knots to be able to include holes: https://imgur.com/a/OGGbCMM
