Securing rings?

I saw someone say they cut off the base strings and then wrap the two ends in paper, then wrap them together. I've never attempted to make one before so if y'all have any more practical ways of securing rings (both normal and alpha) that would be much appreciated! c:

I’m super paranoid about my alpha strings coming undone so I leave a good size of thread in the back and then once I’m finished I tie those loose strings to one another! It makes me feel better and I’ve never had an issue with them coming undone 😌

@cherries_7 do you tie them all together or each string separately?

i’ll tie two threads together with basically a forward knot (2 individual knots). If i have an odd number of threads i’ll either use polish to “glue” the last one down or just tie it to the leftover thread from other knots 😭 not sure if that makes sense
