Yarn recommendations?

My base string’s keep ripping halfway through, it’s definitely more to do with the yarn I’m using rather than tying too tightly. What type of yarn should I get instead? Right now I’m just using cotton/acrylic yarn. You know the drill I need something durable that won’t tear or fall apart easily and ties neatly. I’ve looked into bamboo but I did read it’s vulnerable when wet so I figured I’d come on here and ask for some recommendations.

I just use cotton embroidery floss and I’ve never really had an issue with that!! So, maybe try look for cotton embroidery floss? A lot of people use DMC which is a good brand. You can find it on Amazon I’m pretty sure.

unfortunately I have with alpha’s, tho it happens further into the project.. because alpha’s take so much longer to make it starts wearing down the base string so it becomes weaker and it eventually just rips, to be fair I do sometimes make mistakes and end up having to open a couple knots and I sometimes end up separating a string with my nails but that always happens to the leading string. Maybe I am holding it too tight when undoing knots tho? Idk I’ll try to pay closer attention to that next time
