I’ve been making bracelets for a while now, and I can’t get alpha patterns to look clean for some reason! I use the straight edge technique and the flat alpha technique, but my alpha bracelets still turn out really bumpy and usually curve different directions instead of staying straight. Any advice/tips on how to fix this?

How many have you attempted/completed at this stage?

While I'm loathed to be one of those "Just Get Good, Brah™" types, it's all about practice. I'm still basically a rookie at alphas myself, and each one has been getting just a little better than the last.

Patting myself on the back for finally managing to make letters prettier than they've been turning out up to this point (made it my avatar for the moment).

I have made a good amount I would say, and I usually use DMC. It might genuinely just be I need to practice, but I was also wondering if there was something else lol

while there are many issues that could cause your bracelets to be uneven and bumpy, what I typically do wrong is not tying all the knots equally! like make sure some are not tighter or looser than the others. also, if you are using a double triangle start, make sure they are straight or that can cause the rest of the bracelet to be bumpy or uneven in the middle.
