Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to 4 bracelets together so they form the shape of a + I am doing a pattern with 18 strings if that matters, the pattern is mostly mirrored through the center the colours will just have to shift with each arm of the plus.

Which pattern are you using?I think I know a method, if all the bracelets used the same colours. This is about normal patterns, right? You would basically start tying the first bracelet starting in a triangle (but not hiding strings in the edges of the triangle). You need to leave enough string before the triangle to tie one complete bracelet. Once you finished the first bracelet, turn it 90°. Start another bracelet in a triangle shape using half of the left out strings from the first bracelet and adding the other half, again leaving enough over for the third bracelet. For the third bracelet, again rotate 90°, use the left out strings from the second bracelet and add the other half, leaving enough over for the fourth bracelet. For the forth bracelet, again rotate 90°, use the left over strings from the first and third bracelet. You can potentially use this method for different colours too, if you do colour switches. MashaKnots has a video on colour switches in normal patterns. If this is about alphas: tie a square using your base strings and on each side of the square tie one bracelet. |

Thanks for the very detailed reply. Yes this is for a normal pattern, and all four bracelets will use the same colours. This triangle method sounds wonderful and I will make sure to look into it. Right now I am working on a test where I used a box not for a start, and while it works, I think the triangle method will end up looking a lot more clean. |

@halokiwi, I want to thank you again. Your tip worked. I have only done a test with 8 strings, and I will need to work out some kinks for aesthetics, but due to your tip I have found a way that I believe will work beautifully for my concept, so once again thanks.
