for a bookmark loop, you're supposed to do the lark's head knot over a thread, right? so after i'm done do I cut off the excess string on each side of the larks head knots? or will it uinravel or smth?

You will end up knotting them in once you have the hole for the tassel made. Kinseyb has a YouTube tutorial on it and a user on here (I forget who) has a tutorial. Hope this helps!
