Has anyone used an iron on the back of an alpha to melt the threads just a little bit so there isn't a lot of loose ends?

To iron polyester threads, it is recommended to use parchment or wax paper to put between your iron and the bracelet. I kind of recall seeing somewhere a while back that it might be recommended to put a towel between the parchment paper and the iron. The iron needs to be set around the heat needed for cotton in order for the polyester to melt.

I'm curious if anyone has done this. I'd assume that you wouldn't want the threads to melt too much because, just guessing, if it is too hot for too long, then the threads would melt into the bracelet likely making it unwearable. Worse case scenario, the bracelet threads would melt.

I haven't (I don't use polyester thread) and I also wouldn't (even if I did). I wouldn't risk it.

I think you could try cutting the threads as short as possible and then melting the ends with a lighter. I know that some people do that.

Thank you for your help. =) I'm just really curious to find out. I might make a quick little bracelet and try it myself. If I do, I'll let you know.

I have another technique use all-adhesive glue, cut your strings as short as possible, glue a bit of the glue on the string and let it dry (I dry it on a lamp)

I appreciate your help. This is actually what I've done so far. It seems to be a good way to finish an alpha. It's easy to have a clean back if you don't have many colors (strings), but, at least for me, it starts to get so confusing the more colors I add. Maybe not confusing, but easier to make a mistakes...and boy do I make a lot of mistakes. 😄

This is a really nice community. I am thankful for any and all replies. ❤️
