how to change colors on normal edges for alphas ??

so ever since i started making alphas i’ve always done the backward forwards knot on the edges, but now i wanted to try just to make the edges normal where they go into like a little wave if i make sense lmao. how exactly do i change colors on the edges for this technique??

you would do the flat edge technique, so put the color that u knotted on the edge into the next knot that ur doing in the edge
