I have seen photos of alpha patterns like #92753 and #89623 where the strings are somehow compressed so they are shaped. I don't know how to do this, does anybody have a tutorial or just a simple explanation?

when i'm making a shaped one, i knot over 2 strings and then switch to one knot per string during the wider part, if that makes sense... hope this helps! happy knotting! (:

There are plenty of tutorial videos on Youtube, probably the best source to learn. 🙂 https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=shaped+bracelet

I recommend watching Alex's Innovations' video on the shaped evil eye bracelet but like lucass_ said, it's basically the same technique as the triangle ends.I also recommend to always check the comments of the pattern to see if it is explained there. For example on pattern #89623, I explained it several times. Basically what you do is, when you get to the edge, you make a knot around all the left over strings at once. This way the unused strings get hidden in the edge. |
