when i have an alpha with a design on the center and a background, the design kinda separates from the background and doesn’t stay together, it’s like i knot the separately or idk, it’s weird. i don’t really know how to explain it but i think you guys got it! any ideas on how to fix that?

Hi! I’m assuming by ‘separate’ you mean that it is bumpy/ uneven due to multiple colour switches at one concentrated area. I can’t really tell from your photos you have posted but if you don’t use the flat alpha technique yet, I highly recommend you try it out, Masha knots has a tutorial on YouTube for that. Other than that, I also try to make sure that my first knot after I made a colour switch is close to the previous knot, so that there isn’t an awkward gap (which would accumulate and cause it to separate). For the design in the centre I would also tie my knots slightly tighter so that the bracelet ends up being even (since when you make colour switches it kind of makes the knots fatter if I’m making any sense). And the last thing I can think of is to really take your time and ensure that every row of knots you make is straight (you can use a ruler/ your nail to straighten it out). Hope this helps ❤️ |

@marab Just wondering do you use the flat alpha technique? If you don't that is probably why your knots are separating. This is a link to a Masha Knots video on how to do that. The flat alpha technique will also make your bracelets less bumpy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YVFAX9sacw |
