Thread wearing off due to friction

While making bracelets with more rows and strings, my strings start to get weaker and wear off in the process. Does this happen to everyone else too?

Hm, that never happened to me. My strings only get a little fuzzled when I have to untie some knots.

What brand of string are you using?

Agree with the answer on top. May want to check out the type of thread you are using...
if its not the thread problem, then I think you’re making your knots wayyyy to tight. You have to loosen them up a lot more, that’s the only other solution I can think of ❤️

I had that happen sometimes when I was making alphas, I switched to using crochet thread for my base strings. I think it’s cheaper and you get more of it so it’s nice. But crochet thread is so tightly woven that it doesn’t fray very easily. If you try that and you bracelet is still fraying then I agree with @mintcookie that you tying your stings to tight.

@sasharaven Try not to pull your strings tightly or the strings might be of poor quality.
