teardrop loop for alphas problem

Okay so the teardrip loop i saw in masha knots so what do i do when i have an even number but it splits into an uneven number and thats way ech side is and odd number how do i fix this??

Most of the time i just group two strings into one and knot over them as if they were one string and then knot over them separately when I get to the alpha row

I agree with @amwatson but if you just want to avoid that all together, than pick patterns with a number of string that is a multiple of 4. Ex. 8, 12, 16, 20
