my knots are sort of elongated, and that causes my alpha patterns to be a little uneven and too long when it comes to the pattern i am making. i am using the same brand of string as by base and leading string, so does anyone have advice on making the knots smaller?

You could try to use a thinner/thicker type of string to see if the helps. Also try to make sure that your knots are all tied tight and are all tied the same tightness.

Hope this helped!! ❤️ ❤️

I know tighter knots are squarer, but alphas turn out better with looser knots so idrk how to fix that. If the knots are all the same tightness as each other, that's I think the best you can get. Play around with it I guess 🤷

My knots are too elongated. My tying tension has improved so my knots are more even however when I do a color switch that first knot its elongated. Also my knots from right to left are longer while my left to right are square even though I use the same tension in both since I use the same hand to pull up the strings in both sides. All the thread I use is DMC, im a left handed and I use the flat alpha technique. My knots are to thigh my projects are always sturdy I dont know what to do to keep the strings specially when there is a color switch to be squared and not enl9ngsted/tilted. If interested to see how i know check out the picture i have posted.
