I had this idea randomly come into my head and I think it would be cool if you could enable it my idea was to have like a green dot or something next to someone's profile picture and if you can't do this / don't think its a good idea its ok.

I agree! I think if they also give users the choice of disabling it for them personally, everybody will win from this feature.
