I feel like its a major issue on this app that you cannot delete anything and neither can the mods. apparently there's only 1 admin that can delete things for you.

I personally have a lot of things I dont want on my profile anymore (sexuality identities I dont align with anymore, fandoms I dont support anymore, patterns I made that I now very much dislike because they were poorly made, ect.)

At this point im considering just making a new account and starting over :/

Just let us mods know what you want to be deleted and we'll forward your request.

The reason why a user can't just delete their own patterns is that it needs to be a well thought through decision to delete a pattern. If it's gone, it's gone. A different user might have been working on the pattern. If the pattern is deleted, there is no longer a proof that you hold the copyright to the pattern.

I completely agree!

I want to be able to delete patterns or variations in my "create patterns" section! I've always thought it was so silly that we aren't able to delete our own patterns, photos, etc.

I don't even understand the copyright reasoning either, if I'm being completely honest. If you delete the pattern, then people should be up for grabs to recreate it if they love the pattern so much. I mean, I guess that isn't how copyright works, but at the end of the day, these are bracelet patterns, not anything super top secret lol.

At the very least we should be able to archive things.

@Kenzzizzle you can delete patterns if you haven't submitted it to the site. On the same line as "save and test" and "submit to site" look to the far right, and it says "delete"

@Kenzzizzle in the past there have been people on etsy "selling" pattens that aren't theirs and that are freely available on braceletbook. If the pattern no longer exists on braceletbook, nobody would be able to do anything against these people. That's not what you agree to by posting your pattern on braceletbook. You don't agree to random people monetising it.

I agree, it's common sense that users should be able to have control over things they post here without having to ask or feel like they need to explain themselves.
It's true that deleting a pattern is an important decision, but I think that a confirmation window before deletion and a warning that patterns cannot be restored should be good enough.
What if someone gets cyberstalked and people discover some sensitive personal information from their BraceletBook profile that couldn't be deleted in time? It can take months to have something deleted here, I've been waiting for the removal of my variations for almost a year now.

It also would've been great to have the feature to delete/edit your ratings on patterns. I often see comments from users who misclicked and accidentally rated a pattern lower than intended, and apparently they can't be removed even manually by admins.

@itarosky no reason needs to be provided when asking for your content to be deleted. You'll just be asked, if you are sure about it.

Patterns, variations, photos etc should not contain information that can endanger you in the first place. Avatar and bio are things you can edit/delete yourself and they should also not include such information.

A very common reason I see why people want their photos or patterns to be deleted is that their aesthetic has changed or the photos they took are not up to their current standards. A user like that might delete their photos, take new ones, post them and in half a year their aesthetic might have changed again. Everytime they post new photos, they have to be reviewed by a moderator and if accepted, they contribute to ranking up. If users could delete their content, they could very easily farm points for ranking up by deleting and reposting the same content over and over again.
