Hi, I was scrolling through patterns and realized that some of them have a difficulty rating. As a relatively new user, I’m confused. What is it? How was it determined? Why did they get rid of it? Did they get rid of it? I’m just mildly confused at the moment, and if anyone has a second to answer it would be great, but no rush 😙 |

Difficulty was a feature that was used a long time ago but has been removed because everyone has a different skill level and the difficulty of a pattern is hard to determine. A moderator can answer your questions more in depth, this is all I know. |

Difficulty was removed a while back because it is highly subjective. They kept the ability to search a specific difficulty so that you can find more patterns, especially older ones. |

Difficulty was a feature that was phased out a long while ago now. It was removed because difficulty was determined by individual moderators and like others have said that would make it very subjective. A knotter who is well experienced may label a bracelet as beginner friendly when a beginner may think it’s too hard. It also added an additional layer to moderating which slowed acceptance down even further. The feature is still viewable on old patterns and searchable but is no longer used on newer patterns. |
