I was just wondering, if 9 people age your pattern 100, and one person rates it a 0, does it average as 5 stars because that's the majority vote, or less because it averages?

It averages as less, because they take the average. So it would be 100 + 100 + 100 + 100 + 100 + 100 + 100 + 100 + 100 + 0 /10 so it would be 900/10 and end up being an average of 90% (4.5 stars).
