I'm making an alpha and one of the base strings snapped. I'm already halfway through and I don't know whether to start over completely or find a way to replace the base string. Is there a way to replace a base string? Help 😭

I have seen many people say they've taped a new base string to the back, maybe try that? I hope this helps 🙂

The first time this happened I tied it back together but that was a rookie mistake. You can tape or glue it to the back. It doesn’t need to be strong because it will stay in place if you take the tape off after a few rows

Just add a new base string in like you would when adding a new colour into an alpha! After a few rows it will be strong enough !

Just tape a new piece of string to the back and act as if nothing happend and cut it off in the end! Good luck!

Me too :[ So what you guys are saying is to tape another base string under it, then start knotting on it? Do I cut it at the end, or do I glue it?
