How do I start my alpha with a teardrop loop? I just want a simple teardrop loop not a triangle one. Would I just make a teardrop loop using my leading string and do one row of knots to start it?

the simplest way to do any sort of shaped loop on an alpha is to just start it like a normal pattern. most people do this with two triangle ends coming off of a loop, but you can totally do it with a teardrop loop too. basically just make a teardrop loop and knot until you have a straight line, then you can start your alpha. to do this, make a teardrop loop, which masha knots has a tutorial for if you don't already know how. then, with the first string on both sides, knot toward the middle, stopping at where you connected the two halves of the teardrop. then, with your next string, knot toward the middle stopping one knot before you stopped with the last string. continue doing this for the rest of your strings, and you should have a straight row of knots, to which you can start your alpha. hope this helps.
