Where can I get thread in bulk online? Not just individual skeins but I’ve seen people with actual balls of it. Can someone please let me know what to search (I don’t know what the balls of thread are called lol) or send a link. And they need to be the same thickness as normal skeins. Thanks.

You can also buy crotchet thread from amazon. La peon size 5 works great to be the same thickness as normal skeins(size 8 is a bit thin). And you can get lots of yards of a bunch of different colors for pretty cheap.

Yes, it's usually crochet cotton that comes in bigger balls. Works just as well as embroidery thread. As the others have suggested, amazon is your best bet. There are some great deals if you want to bulk buy. Don't look for brands, check the reviews, as many of the cheaper non-branded threads can been just as good quality

I forgot to mention, but the other replies do, that it does come in sizes. I would recommend size 5 also. If you like sparkly and metallic threads I would definitely buy crochet thread over embroidery thread, as the strands stay together better in my experience. If you are unsure (as I was and still can be at times because there are so many different threads out there!) then I would head down to a craft store/sewing shop near you, so you can pick up and compare them. When you find the type you like, go home and search online. I have spent many times in craft stores just comparing threads 🙈
