However long you want the bracelets to turn out plus 15 cm if you want to make ties on both ends

I reccomend you place one side of the string in one hnd and measure it to the other( windspan lenght) |

I make mine much longer than needed just because it is super hard to knot when they’re too short!

I usually do wingspan when i make loops. I just learned that at camp.

wingspan is your best friend, but sometimes patterns that rely heavily on one string more than others need some more length on that string (ie the diamond of a diamond pattern), and then if you're making a knotted loop those need to be longer as well. But with patterns where its all equal like chevrons, arrowheads, etc, wingspan should work. More knots with the string means more of it is needed

i normally measure mine to about 80 inches (2 meters) if i’m making a loop, and 40 inches (1 meter) if i’m not making a loop

If I'm making a loop I do my wingspan and if I'm not I do about one hand to opposite shoulder just to give me a bit extra.
