alpha pattern going sideways?

helloo!! I drew an alpha pattern but I checked the knots and my design is going sideways. I googled it and looked through previous questions, but I found nothing about it. My pattern is 23x22. I am wondering how to fix this and if i'm doing something wrong 🤔

You can add rows of background color above and below or right and left depending on how you want to orientate it in the diagram with the arrows. 🙂

The generator picks the smallest amount of base strings automatically. If you want the correct orientation, you have to make the pattern higher than wide or wider than high depending on what orientation you want. You can also always tie your pattern based on the grid instead of base on the knotting instruction. You can always tie it in any orientation you want. |
