Hi! New here! 🙂 I just finished my first Alpha/Picture bracelet, pattern #129859; I made some mistakes, but it was a great pattern to use to learn the basics - I love Alice in Wonderland so it was also a fun one for me. (Just uploaded a pic to the pattern's page). Just to preface my questions: I have watched multiple tutorials on YT from Alex's Innovations, Masha Knots, Kinsey B, and several others. I've got the basic, single color triangle start/end down. I get it. I'm also good with adding/changing colors. (And I just got some fabric glue to secure the threads on the back). My design is a Kansas City CHIEFS keychain for my nephew (9) using red (background), white (lettering), and yellow (outline around the lettering). The lettering is VERTICAL down the keychain, not horizontal. (I also have a similar design for my niece (6) - it's just her name with hearts since I can't find anything Taylor Swifty for her that I like). I used AI to help me create the pattern, (I know, I know, but I've never made pixel art before so it was really helpful - it took about an hour and half for Claude to get my vision of it correct). After seeing my first alpha complete, I want to add a black border around the whole bracelet, (very easy to do in the pattern creation grid), but I want the inside of the beginning and ending triangles to be red. It's a 13x56 design without the triangle start/end. So, how do I do this? I like the straight edge technique of using backward/forward and forward/backward knots on the border edges, just FYI. I've scoured the tutorials here, and the FAQs, and videos on YT, but I haven't found anything helpful. There are plenty of instructions for normal patterns, but those don't work for alphas, at least in the way that I learned to do them, because my designs first row would be black for the 1st and 13th knots, with red in the middle for the other 11 - the Triangle start needs to lead into the first row, and reverse for the end triangle. Thanks for any help ya'll can give me! I have a whole list of these types of keychains to make for my family and friends - I have a JAYHAWKS design too. I haven't published any of them, yet, but I will if anyone wants to see them. I did a test on the CHIEFS one and the lettering with the outline looks really good. I just need to figure out these two color triangle starts/ends. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ |

You tie an alpha triangle start in which you switch colours the same way you switch colours in the "body" of the bracelet. You switch to a different leading string to make knots with a different colour. |

There are lots of people who you can ask to help you design patterns by posting in "request". You don't have to use ai to do it 😉

Thank you, Halokiwi! What a simple solution! I knew I was probably overthinking it/making it more complicated. My BRAIN! UGH! 🙂 Also, thanks for the tip on requesting design help from people here. Definitely something I will be doing later. 🙂 THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
