My bracelet is curling to one side as I’m making it, and some parts are much skinner than others. This is my first bracelet, any tips appreciated 🩷

Sometime that will happen to me when I don't tie my knots at an equal tension and some are tighter or looser than others. Try practicing tying you knots at the same tension and find a nice tension that works for you.

Hope this helps. 😊

There's a good chance its knot tension like the other person suggested. Also try and avoid using strings of different thicknesses, the easiest way to do that is to just use strings of the same brand.

It could also be that you're making a pattern that's asymmetrical (e.g. a candy stripe #1) which will naturally curl to one side even if you're knots are all the same tension. There's not a whole lot that can be done if thats the case, some people say tying your knots looser overall can help, but even as someone who's made bracelets for years its still something im not very good at haha.

Your knots also may be very loose which causes bracelets to curl up! 😄

I have the same problem; before adding them, I crush them under a large knife. I've also heard that you should boil them in the rice cooking water, but I've never tried it.
