Not able to edit knots on existing patterns?

Hi, I am currently trying to make a bracelet with a normal pattern, and i wanted to change the colours. i need to edit the knots in the pattern so that the colours would still work with the pattern.My problem is, when I go to change a knot It gives me the message "Sorry, but the knots can't be changed on a pattern created from an existing one." I understand that this is because the system doesnt recognize patterns with edited knots as variations, but I wanted to know if there was any way to edit this pattern strictly for personal use without any intention of posting it? I know that I could theoretically manually put it into the pattern generator from scratch, but the pattern is 28 strings and 44 rows, so that would take forever to do and just isnt feasible for me. I want to know if there is any better, easier way? |

You would have to manually recreate it or use a photo editing software and change knots and string colours by drawing them in.Which pattern is it? I could help you type the knotting structure out, so you have less work. |

thats okay actually, i will try out what you said about using an image editor, that sounds like a much easier solution than anything i came up with!
