Are you looking for a plastic canvas? If it looks like a thin grid with big square holes - it's not designed specifically for cross stitch. The canvas for cross stitch is called Aïda and if it's plastic, it normally comes in only one size - count 14. It means that it includes 14 squares per 1 inch (or 5.5 squares per 1 cm). It should look like a plastic sheet with small round holes. To cross stitch on such canvas, you need to separate the strands of your embroidery thread and use only 2 or 3 out of 6. Also, if you don't already have a cross-stitch needle, you need to look for size 24 or 26.

If you happen to find a plastic canvas in count 10, it also works pretty well, but you need to use a bigger needle (size 16-18) and use the whole thread without separating the strands.

hello! I also cross stitch! I use count 14 aida fabric, the kind used for cross stitching. I haven’t used the plastic stuff, but normal embroidery floss works great! i normally use 3 strands (splitting it in half) and it works, solidly covering each square.

@leviOsa_09 can you make keychains out of them?

I use plastic canvas for my cross stitch keychains. To make them into keychains I usually use jump rings and some kind of keychain (either a split keyring or Phone Ring Strap). For the backs I either make them double sided pattern (Making 2 sides of the pattern) or sew felt on to them. I have two pictures of what my keychains look like under patterns #196432 and #196289.

Here's a great youtube video tutorial as well
