I'm working on a 20 strand bookmark, but I made a mistake and now the ends at the start are less than an inch long. How do I do a decent ending?

Also there is no starting knot, just strings and then the bookmark.

You can braid the strings in small groups, though at these lengths it's VERY fiddly, or you can glue them down to the other side with some fabric glue, which means they won't be visible from the front at all. If you glue them and don't like how the back looks, you can glue some felt fabric on the back to cover them up.

@k-raien I changed my profile pic to show my bracelet. I had trouble getting started with a knot at the top and so I just sandwiched the strings in my string box, but I pulled to hard, and I got some really short ends. I tried to fix it as you can see in the picture, but after about a week the ending started looking wonky.

@EggMan I think I'll do fabric glue. Does it make that part get stiffer?

A little bit, but it's not too bad. Fabric glue is desinged to stay flexible after drying.
