Bracelet wrapped on itself with water

Hi, I gifted my neighbor a bracelet (#70698), she went swimming with it and it completely wrapped on itself, now it looks like a kknekki. Do you know what caused that and how to avoid it in the future ?

the water likely made the bracelet more malleable, and the movement of it being splashed around probably made it curl. not really anything to do to prevent it, but if she wants to try flattening it out, she could unroll it and place it beneath a heavy book or other object for a few days to see if that helps
