Has she submitted a pattern on the site? If so, it might be possible to find her under the "Patterns" section, and search for her name with "Added by user:".

Failing that, and I guess I probably should've thought of it in the first place, try going to "Messages" (that envelope-resembling icon on the top right, left of the equal sign), click "Write a Message", and enter the name you're looking for on the next screen. Compose some sort of hello in the text box, and send it her way to let her know you're here.

(And no, we don't have to be friends first in order to send messages here.)

Also, she has to be advanced, and not a beginner to be able to become friends.

@Selah_Ross Are you sure about that? During my first day or so here, I was getting a surprising (to me, anyway) number of friend requests while I had only one measly orange dot to my name.

(The only reason I didn't let it go to my head was noting that the "friend" counts of those individuals were in the hundreds or even the thousands--clearly I was just going to be a new number in their collection; nothing else special about me. 🙁 )

@Selah_Ross beginners can receive and accept friend requests. They just can't send any of their own.

@halokiwi ahhh, so sorry, I just remember trying to be friends with a friend as a beginner, and I sent the invite, and I was just assuming it was like that for both sides
