I am making a normal pattern and for the strings to match the order on top the pattern has to end on an odd row. Is there anything I reason why normal patterns have to end on even numbered rows? Is there any way I can change this? Or should I just change the pattern?

You could replace the knots in the last row with left-out knots to make the strings match. Or you could change them to bf or fb knots. All normal patterns need to have an even amount of knots because that is the structure of a normal pattern. Knots are not straight beneath each other but diagonal. If one row is left out or skipped, the knots will be straight beneath each other. Is this about a pattern you want to design or a pattern posted by someone else? |
