At the very top part it tells you where to put the strings, so since it is a even amount of numbers each string will be used/knotted, for example the A will go over the B string with a forward knot and C will go over D with a f knot and E will go over E with a f knot, then you get to the second line and you will take the 1 string and put it to the side and you follow the pattern and the last string will not be used, then on the third line you will add the first and last strings and do the pattern, if this is not enough you can watch the videos for farther explanation
