Gaps/holes in bracelet

I’m making a chevron bracelet but the right side whenever I tie it has some gaps and the strings are farther apart than on the left side. I’ve tried everything. What should I do?

Could it be a tension issue? Like pulling the strings on the left harder?

Pull the first half of your knots tight before making the second half. The first half determines the placement of the knot, the second half secures it in place.
