How come noone has made a tutorial on how to make your own patterns? I try and try, but I can't get the hang of it Am I missing a tutorial made on this topic?

There is a tutorial here : https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/34_designing-normal-patterns/But what is blocking you exactly ? failing to do anything or failing to make it look how you want to ? |

I can't seem to get the ratio of colours and knots right. Aspecially if I want an extra string on the side for straight edge... it would help a lot if someone posted a picture of both colours and how the knots are built up.

In the interactive generator, you can only add an even amount of strings on the left edge. If you add an odd amount like one string, it will mess the pattern up.If you want to use the straight edges technique in your pattern, I recommend to have the straight edge strings in place from the start and not adding them at a later point. It's much easier like that. I'm honestly not sure, what else you are struggling with. My biggest recommendation for you would be to use the interactive generator and not the normal generator. In the interactive generator, you can just click on the strings and knots to change them. You can make changes and experiment and see what happens. If you are struggling with using the generator, you could also try to draw your patterns on graph paper first like described in the tutorial linked above and then transfer the pattern to the generator. |
