Hello!
I am making an alpha pattern and realized I did a whole row wrong. I am trying to untie a specific knot in the row but it is super tight and I am unable to untie it. Does anyone have any tricks to help me untie this? thanks 🙂

@cashee Oh no! That’s frustrating. What I sometimes do to untie knots is I get something like a needle or a toothpick, and I try my best to poke it through the space in between the first half and second half of the knot (if that makes sense), then I sort of pull it down to the point where I can use my nails. Then you do the same thing with the upper half of the knot.

Hope this helped!

Flip the bracelet to the back and try to untie the knot from the back. You can use a pointy object to help you, if your fingernails are too short.

i like to use a safety pin. when i bring my bracelet out into public on my water bottle, i clip the safety pin on it just in case i mess up. 😂

Personally I use a thumb tack but a lot of the time I’m scared of losing it or stepping on it so sometimes I use and earring

I've found using a flat-tipped needle, like a leather needle, works quite well. I stick the point into the side of the knot and gently work it through, making sure not to fray either of the strings, then when the widest part of flat tip is in the middle I twist the needle back and forth in my fingers, which gently loosens the tension. From there I pull the base string taut and begin to lift the knotting string off with needle.
This can take a while but it's the best way I've found so far.
For some particularly stubborn knots I'll loosen them up enough to fit the tips of my thread scissors into, then carefully open them which causes the strings to separate. Obviously this needs to be done carefully, and only with very fine, pointy scissors!

Personally, I use a thumbtack to untie my knots. I always do it from the back too. I use it to start the untying process. However, I will go in with my fingers after the knot has been mostly untied.
