Why are there random holes throughout my bracelet?

I'll just be minding my business, knotting, and then I realize there are several little holes throughout my bracelets, even though I tie my knots fairly tight 😂😂. Do you have any idea why?

When knotting keep in mind that the first half of the knot determines its placement while the second half secures it in place. Pull the first half tight before doing the second half.
