how to end alphas for bookmarks

i’ve seen some pictures of bookmarks just ended on like a flat line rather than like a triangle end (idk if that makes sense). but is there any other way that you can end an alpha bookmark other than a triangle end?

i would say just finish it normally without any special endings like a triangle end and maybe put some clear nail polish on the last row of knots? i havent tried this so idk how much it's gonna help😭
