Hi all! I’ve been doing pretty well at alphas over the past couple months, and wanna have a go at a larger piece. I’ve seen on pictures that some use what looks like wooden poles to make the tapestry on.

Can anyone let me know what width and where they get the poles?
Thanks!

They are called wooden dowels and you can easily find them on Amazon! Another alternative for this is a pencil that is round completely (i use that haha)

Ive seen people use 14-19cm (this depends on the width of your wall hanging you can cut it smaller if you want) long wooden dowels with a diameter of 4-5mm. How this helps! 😄

You can use a wooden dowel, kebab skewers and for smaller ones I’ve even used toothpicks.

they’re wooden dowels! i usually get mine at Michaels, but you can get them at any craft store, or Amazon. I’m not sure what width they are, but you can get them in a variety of sizes. if you don’t have them you can always use skewers, popsicle sticks, or even chopsticks 😁!
