I want to make a keychain on a d ring so I can’t do the normal knot cuz that makes 2 base strings what do I do?

If you’re planning to knot them to the D ring before you start the pattern, you could make one string the size of one plus an extra bit. Then you could knot it t the D ring and cut off the small bit on one side (the remainder from when you tied the string to the D ring). Then you should have an odd number of stringsHope this makes sense 😄 |

you could do a lark knot on your D-ring with your leading string and leave one end of the knot as the base string so you'll have an odd number of base strings + leading string on the D-ring. i do that with my keychains all the time and it turns out very neat imo 🙂 hope my explanation makes sense but feel free to ask further questions!
