I am currently making a small tapestry and i was wondering how many knots to do when you change colors. 1 or 2 knots? Also forward and backward, or both forward, or both backward?

I recommend watching MashaKnots video on the flat alpha technique.

When switching colours in an alpha pattern, you make the last knot of the old colour and then you make the first knot of the new colour. Each circle in the pattern signifies exactly one knot.

I'm slightly confused

@2009269 hi! when doing a color change in an alpha, you will be threading through the previous leading string once you have done 1/2 of a knot (flat alpha technique) like halokiwi said, I'd definitely recommend watching MashaKnot's video which is super helpful. You'll still be doing the knot the pattern instructs you to do. God bless!
