Hi! Make sure that your strings are all the same thickness, this could mess things up. Make sure that you are tying all knots the same tightness. Also, maybe try the straight edges technique, and the flat alpha technique. But most importantly, keep practicing, it will get better over time.

@halokiwi the rows are shifted and the pattern doesn't show up as much. maybe its bc I am tying my knots with the same hand?

So the knots tilt to the side? I recommend experimenting with the angle you pull your leading string at while making the knots.
