hey! there isnt much of a difference but when there are more colors in an alpha and you use normal technique, it causes the bracelet to be bumpy and not very neat as all the strings you are changing overlap eachother. on the other hand, using flat alpha prevents bumpy bracelets even with a lot of colors. hope it helps you!https://youtu.be/_YVFAX9sacw you can watch this video for flat alpha 🙂 |

The difference is only how you switch colours. For the regular colour switch you just fold the old leading string behind the bracelet and continue knotting with the new leading string. For the flat alpha colour switch you fold the old leading string up in front of the bracelet, make the first half of the next knot with the new leading string, fold the old leading string over the base string you just knotted onto and then behind the bracelet, then you make the second half of the knot with the new leading string. This way the old leading string is sandwiched in the first knot of a new colour and the bracelet is more connected which leads to a smoother and less bumpy structure. |
