@rebecciish I don't think it's the pattern's fault. You might just need some more practice and that's completely alright. Try to make your knots as consistent as possible and if you struggle with that I recommend making pattern #2 as a practice.
@addie_nova for future references, make each string about 2 1/2 feet long. Or you could make each color 5 feet long and fold each color in half so one string acts as two strings. Either way you use the same amount of string, I just find it easier to cut 5 feet and fold it.
